Bodog sets up London base with Everest's Euro PR chief
Bodog has recruited former Everest European PR head Ed Pownall to head a new global press office in London.
BODOG HAS HIRED former Everest European PR head Ed Pownall to head a new global press office in London.
Pownall (pictured) leaves Everest after two years, having previously worked in marketing roles for Jackpotjoy, SkyBet and Blue Square prior to its sale to Rank in 2003.
He told EGRmagazine.com: “The Bodog brand is one of the most recognised in the industry and the job offers me the chance to work for a brand which is truly global. Some gaming brands call themselves global, but I don’t think they truly are in terms of having the presence Bodog has across the world.”
Commenting on the choice of London for the new office, Bodog founder Calvin Ayre said: “London is the business centre of the gaming industry and so it makes sense to position our global press office there.”
Ayre revealed that he was to open the London office in June in an EGRMagazine.com exclusive.
Bodog is also in the midst of a European marketing push that has included a sponsorship deal with English Premier League football team Fulham.
