888 to cut dozens of jobs as part of global “streamlining” process
Firm says lay-offs needed to “ensure we have the most efficient operational focus”
888 Holdings is laying off dozens of employees at several offices around the world as part of an ongoing streamlining process.
The bulk of the cuts will come at the firm’s Israeli office, with the move prompted by increased taxes in several markets where the firm operates.
An 888 spokesperson told EGR Intel: “We are focused on continuing to develop 888 in the dynamic and fast-moving global online gaming industry.
“We continually assess our organisational structure to ensure that we have the most efficient operational focus to deliver 888’s strategy of growing across product verticals and regulated markets.
Global Gaming hires Betsson’s former platform chief
Global Gaming has hired Betsson’s former head of platform, Mark Wadsworth, to lead the company’s recent expansion into Malta.
Wadsworth joins the Ninja Casino-owner as its new director of the Group’s companies in Malta, following nearly 18 months at Stockholm-listed operator Betsson.
During his time at Betsson, Wadsworth previously held the position of head of platform, working across 25 different casino brands with a team of 10 product owners.
He has worked in the gaming industry for more than 10 years after previously setting up Malta-based The Game Factory.
Win Systems has made two senior hires with Carlos Reig joining as corporate director of operations (Gaming) and Jose Luis Aranda as managing director of Gold Club Gaming in Slovenia.
Reig has almost two decades of industry experience and will head up the strategy and day-to-day operations of the firm’s gaming arm.
Aranda previously spent nine years at Scientific Games and will manage Gold Club’s activity in Slovenia, where it currently runs the majority of its operations from.

Scientific Games has announced the appointment of Shawn G. Williams as chief human resources officer, reporting directly to CEO Kevin Sheehan.
Williams’ appointment, which follows the retirement of Gary Melampy, is effective immediately and he will be responsible for developing and executing Scientific Games’ global human resource strategy.
CEO Sheehan said: “Shawn brings over two decades of experience and proven success driving performance and results in global organizations in the technology sector, with a focus on HR, operations, corporate strategy and business transformation.
