Trustly acquired by major Nordic equity firm
Payment provider’s unique PayNPlay no registration feature is operated by Sweden-facing online operators ComeOn and Global Gaming
Payment provider Trustly has been acquired by major private equity investor Nordic Capital for an undisclosed sum.
Trustly’s unique no registration and instant withdrawal feature “PayNPlay” is operated by a number of online gambling operators including Global Gaming’s Ninja Casino and Cherry Group’s ComeOn.
The Swedish-provider last month signed a deal with Global Gaming for the exclusive right to launch PayNPlay in the Estonian market.

Trustly CEO Oscar Berglund and Nordic Capital partner Fredrik Näslund
A statement by Nordic Capital said the fund intended to support Trustly’s ambition to become the leading global online banking payments provider.
Trustly CEO, Oscar Berglund, said: “We are delighted to partner with Nordic Capital whose support will be of great value as we grow across merchant verticals, products and geographies.
Berglund said the firm’s founding equity firm, Alfvén & Didrikson, would remain a significant shareholder.
Fredrik Näslund, partner and advisor to Nordic Capital funds, added: “Nordic Capital views Trustly as a highly strategic payment platform with unique capabilities.
“We intend to support the management team and founders in the journey to becoming the global account-to-account infrastructure player by providing capital and experience from our previous successful investments in payment.”
