Rank’s long-standing director of compliance retires
Operator has also created director of payments and customer diligence role to oversee online payments and mitigate risk of money laundering
Rank Group’s long-standing director of compliance, Richard Wade, retired from his position this month after 38 years with the operator, EGR has learned.
Former head of responsible gambling, Andrew Poole, has been appointed to take over the role which oversees compliance and responsible gambling across the group’s retail and online businesses.
Before joining Rank in 2016, Poole did a four-year stint at MyLotto24 as a compliance manager and prior to that he was director of online gambling addiction support service, Gambling Therapy.
During his time in the industry, Wade was also the chair for the operations forum of the National Casino Forum (NCF) trade body which represents the majority of land-based casino operators in the UK.
In other Rank news, former head of fraud and payments for the group, Rory Howard, has been promoted to the new role of director of payments and customer diligence.
Howard told EGR the role will see him lead Rank’s payments strategy for the online business.
He said: “The role was created in order to acknowledge the importance to Rank Group but also the industry on ensuring a safe environment which is free of crime and mitigation of money laundering.”
