Panbet's head of sponsorship departs
Shaun Simmonds will leave operator in December after overseeing number of Premier League deals
Panbet’s head of sponsorship Shaun Simmonds is to leave after four years with the company, eGaming Review has learned.
Simmonds (pictured left) will vacate his position at the operator on 20 December and has yet to make a decision on his next move, though he has received offers from inside and outside the industry.
A new as-yet unnamed head of sponsorship has been appointed from within the egaming industry and will assume their new role in August.
During his time with the operator, Simmonds oversaw a number of sponsorship deals with Premier League sides, helping to grow the Marathonbet brand globally.
“I’m extremely proud of the part that my team has played in the growth of the Marathonbet brand on a global level and I’ll be eternally grateful for the opportunities that have been afforded to me during my time here,” Simmonds told eGaming Review.
“I’ll be leaving my team to work under an incredibly knowledgeable, insightful and strategic CEO in Viktor Hoffmann so it is all smiles and no regrets,” he added.
Following a successful partnership with Fulham FC, Marathonbet secured further deals with FC Dynamo Kiev, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Derby County, Middlesbrough FC and Hibernian over a two year period.
More recently, the firm signed partnerships with Premier League heavyweights Liverpool FC and Manchester United FC.
Last season alone, 18% of the firm’s new registrations were tracked directly through sponsorship channels and month-by-month this peaked in April when it hit 56%.
