William Hill Online CIO Phil Moyes departs
Tech reshuffle also sees head of development Peter Morgan leave the operator
William Hill Online’s chief information officer (CIO) Phil Moyes has stepped down after more than a decade at the operator, eGaming Review has learned.
The news comes just weeks after Moyes, who is believed to have been placed on gardening leave, was replaced as group CIO by Kevin O’Connor and moved into an online-only role.
He joined William Hill back in in 2003 and worked his way up via a number of senior roles including group programme director and chief technology officer.
New man O’Connor joined Hills from S&P Capital IQ however he had served as CIO at Paddy Power earlier in his career. He replaced Moyes on the same day William Hill announced the departure of its former online managing director Andrew Lee in January.
In related news, EGR also understands William Hill Online’s head of development Peter Morgan has left the company after nearly five years’ service.
Morgan had been responsible for all of William Hill’s online development projects after previously working in senior engineering roles at various companies throughout his career.
His departure comes soon after former colleague and William Hill CTO Finbarr Joy also left the operator to become group CTO of telecommunications company Lebara.
William Hill declined to comment on the story.
Earlier this week it was announced William Hill and rival operator Sky Betting & Gaming had invested ?100m in NYX Gaming Group as part of the supplier’s ?270m deal to acquire OpenBet.
