Betfair improves exchange betting app with Paypal integration in a bid to boost mobile growth
Betfair has updated its exchange betting iOS app to allow users to deposit directly from PayPal.
The update which launched on Appleâs App Store today, follows on from the operator integrating the e-wallet payment solution to its iOS Sportbook app in October 2013.
Itâs the latest in a series of updates to Betfair’s mobile apps in recent months as the operator looks to build on its growth in the mobile sector.
Betfair said its mobile revenue had grown 50% in the six months ending October 31 2013 with 50% of its sportsbook revenue now coming through the mobile channel.
Additional changes to its apps in recent months include the addition of its cash out function to sportsbook and live streaming of selected races added to the exchange app in December.
The addition of Paypal, which boasts over 15m accounts in the UK and over 160 million worldwide, is part of a wider industry move to extend the range of mobile payment offers currently available.
Other operators such as Paddy Power and William Hill also allow for PayPal deposits through their mobile sportsbook apps.
