Wednesday round-up 06/08
This weekâs round-up includes financial results from Unibet and 888, as well as Ladbrokes tinkering with its exchange app
Unibet reported improved mobile performance during the first half of 2014 this morning, revealing that it had derived one third of its total gross win revenue from the channel during the period and almost half of its gross win for sports betting. In-play proved to be a huge driver during a lucrative World Cup for the firm, with almost half the £112m in turnover coming from those markets.
Meanwhile 888 also reported impressive growth on the platform this week. Speaking to analysts CEO Brian Mattingley revealed that mobile was responsible for around 30% of total turnover during the period, particularly driven by the firmâs B2C bingo and casino products. âWeâve still got a long way to go, a lot more products to release and a lot more growth to see from mobile technology,â Mattingley said.
Ladbrokes rolled the first update to its exchange betting iOS app in three months this week. The update, released yesterday, made general performance improvements to the app ahead of an expected marketing push in Q3 2014 to coincide with the new Premier League season.
Sky Bet also updated its iOS sports betting app by introducing its new Sky Bet Club customer loyalty promotion to the app. Sky Bet Club allows customers to opt in to receive a free £5 bet every week they deposit and bet a minimum of £25. Users are able to check how much they have left to bet using the Sky Bet Club page on the app.
Playtech has integrated Metric Gamingâs Rapid Fire Sports service into its IMS back off system and rolled the in-play betting product out for Coralâs online and mobile sportsbooks. Rapid Fire Sports will be made available on selected football matches, offering customers the chance to bet on outcomes that resolve within minutes.
SBTech has been selected by The Gaming Platformâs European business to provide its turnkey sportsbook solution for TGPâs white label business, replacing its previous sportsbook provider OpenBet. SBTechâs mobile and tablet betting and gaming products have been included in the multi-year deal, with operators including JenningsBet, 138.com, Setantabet and Wilsonbet having already migrated to SBTech software.
