Unibet apps hailed as mobile continues growth
Chief executive Henrik Tjärnström hailed firmâs strong mobile portfolio after operator derived 43% of total GGR from mobile in Q4
Unibet chief executive Henrik Tjärnström praised the operatorâs strong mobile portfolio after it recorded another consecutive quarter of mobile growth to reach 43% of total revenue on the channel.
During the quarter ended 31 December Unibet derived 43% of total gross gaming revenue from mobile devices, equivalent to approximately £33.5m and up on the 38% figure recorded in the first nine months of the year.
In a briefing following this morningâs results, Tjärnström revealed that the operatorâs mobile portfolio now included some 22 different apps, half of which facilitate real-money gambling, and said that its flexible approach to design had seen it able to roll out a consistent experience across all platforms.
The operator noted its apps had been downloaded a total of 670,000 times over the course of 2014, 98% of which were downloads of real-money apps, and that its flagship sports betting app had ranked in the top 5 iOS sports apps in ten separate markets.
Tjärnström also reserved praise for Unibetâs growing mobile casino business which recently added to its portfolio a bespoke iPad app and now has more than 130 mobile-optimised titles.
In October last year Tjarnstrom said he expected mobile revenue to overtake desktop at some point this year, insisting it was âjust a matter of timeâ before it did so.
