This weekâs news in brief sees an update to BetVictorâs iOS app and a near quadrupling of mobile revenues at mybet
Version 5.0 of BetVictorâs iOS sportsbook app launched with additional functionality including cash out and a new virtual sports product as it looked to expand its core offering on mobile following earlier updates to its popular InstaBet app.
New mybet CEO Zeno Ossko said mobile would be a major focus going forward as the firm reported a staggering 387% rise in revenues on the channel during Q2 â a reflection of the sorry state of the operatorâs mobile offering 2014. âThe next step will then be mobile,â Ossko said. âThe desktop product will be finished sometime in December and then for the next year weâll focus fully on ramping up our mobile offerings. Weâll continue to see more growth and weâll also launch a mobile casino product, which is something we donât have today.â
Ladbrokes said that mobile contributed 65% of mobile revenues during H1, with CEO Jim Mullen singling out âstrong mobile sportsbook KPIsâ as providing the operator with a solid base to build upon.
PokerStars said it would launch a new standalone casino app before the end of the year as the firm looks to expand on the channel after reporting 44% of real money active poker players used its mobile platform in Q2 2015. The figure was up from just 35% for the same period last year, and encouragingly more than 60% of new acquisitions in the quarter came from the mobile channel.
Betfair has brought partial cash out to mobile for the first time as it looks to up the ante after seeing its cash out feature become industry standard. Betfair, which advertises its app alongside the tagline âthe home of cash outâ, has now moved to strengthen its product with the addition of a feature already popular on its desktop sportsbook.
Coral released a major update to its mobile website and iOS app as the firm looks to build upon triple digit growth in the channel. Coralâs new mobile website optimises the UX and adds new bonus functionality, but it is the iOS app which gets the bigger overhaul, with new features including Touch ID and passcode login as well as a raft of new games. There are also improved personalisation features, including a dedicated personal promotions page and easier access to previously played games as part of a new interactive display.
