Puntt player-specific esports betting platform goes live in the UK
Start-up operator to offer individual player markets in UK to esports bettors
Esports player betting site Puntt has launched in the UK and will afford punters the opportunity to bet on individual players, rather than teams, for the first time.
After securing a UK licence in February, Puntt will now begin to offer betting pools on popular title Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for the in-progress ESL Pro League 11 tournament.
Other major titles such as Dota2 will be available to bet on later in 2020.
Via the betting-pool platform, customers will bet against one another and will be able to wager on markets such as ‘most individual kills’ or ‘most headshots’ in what is described as a “world first” innovation by Puntt.
Until now, esports betting has been focused on teams rather than players, and Puntt CEO Phill Adams said the platform was designed to “fill a glaring gap” in the market.
Adams said: “Puntt has been built to fill a glaring gap in the esports betting space – offering a fair and exciting betting product through which you back individual players as opposed to betting fixed odds on teams alone.
“After 18 months work to bring Puntt to market, and despite the current difficult circumstances, we’re incredibly excited that we will be launching in the UK during the ESL Pro League – Season 11. For Puntt, this is just the start, with more player betting markets and more esports to be introduced over the coming months.”
