New Napoleon CEO outlines plans for future strategy including workforce bolstering
Eamonn O’Loughlin to replace Tim De Borle at the end of the year as he reveals his plans for the Belgian firm in the early stages of his tenure
Incoming Napoleon Sports & Casino CEO Eamonn O’Loughlin is pinning his hopes on bolstering the group’s 400+ workforce in the coming months as a key driver for future growth. O’Loughlin will replace the outgoing CEO Tim De Borle at the end of this year, with the latter departing the Belgian operator after a decade of service. O’Loughlin is moving up from the position of COO into the CEO role and has already laid out his plans for his tenure in the top role. He said: “My ambition is to grow Napoleon into becoming the most trusted and most entertaining gaming brand across all of Belgium, while ensuring we continue to lead the industry with responsible gaming and player protection.” O’Loughlin went on to champion his existing employees, before adding that attracting top talent in a competitive market would be a key catalyst for success. He continued: “With about 400 employees in a wide range of profiles, Napoleon has a lot of talent. We want to invest in attracting, retaining and developing our people. That way we are increasingly earning recognition as an employer where people choose to work.” The Superbet-owned operator has a foot in both the retail space and online, and O’Loughlin has stated that there will be expansion across the business’s portfolio. He added: “We also want to continue providing jobs for the community around our HQ, Grand Casino and retail network by creating valuable, rewarding and high-growth careers. With opportunities spanning retail operators to high-tech digital roles, Napoleon has a lot to offer.” Superbet acquired Napoleon in July 2021. The Romania-headquartered firm stated that the acquisition represented a “compelling strategic and financial rationale” for the company as it wanted to expand out of its CEE home.
