NetPlay continues double-digit revenue growth
Interactive TV casino operator reports strong second period ahead of interim results in September
NetPlay TV has backed up its strong start to the year with double-digit increase in new depositing casino players and a 34% year-on-year rise in total net revenue during Q2.
The operator saw revenues reach £7.1m in the period compared to £5.3m in Q2 2012 as it continued to spend on “pure online marketing” in addition to its interactive TV shows on FIVE and ITV in the UK.
The firm, which is currently sponsoring the UK’s Big Brother television show, said a “significant” marketing investment has also led to a 19% increase in new depositing casino players, and a 25% hike in quarterly active depositing casino players.
These results however represented a decline from this year’s strong first quarter, with new depositing casino players falling 16% against Q1 2013, while active depositing casino players dropped by 7%, and total net revenue was flat quarter-on-quarter.
“The Directors are pleased with this continued strong performance and are confident of meeting full year market expectations,” the company said in a statement.
In its first quarter results, NetPlayTV chief executive Charles Butler said he was confident the operator could build on what he described as “an exceptional year both financially and operationally”, following 27.5% year-on-year revenue growth for the year ended 31 December 2012.
The business saw revenues climb to £21.8m compared to £17.1m in FY 2012, a second consecutive year in which revenues rose by more than 20%, while profit before tax more than quintupled to £3.1m.
