12Bet becomes Crystal Palace stadium sponsor
One-year deal with English Premier League club follows ongoing shirt sponsorship of Wigan Athletic
Isle of Man-based 12Bet has signed a one-year deal with Premier League football club Crystal Palace to become its official betting partner and sponsor of its stadium.
The deal marks the first time an online gaming company has signed a stadium sponsorship deal in the UK with a Premier League club.
“Gaming companies like us are looking for brand exposure on a global level,” said Rory Anderson, CEO of Asian-focused operator 12Bet. “We are delighted to be the first company in our sector to pull off a stadium sponsorship deal in the Premier League.”
The agreement was announced on Friday in time for the start of the Premier League season and follows a flurry of partnerships between egaming firms and football clubs this summer.
Bodog announced a multi-million pound betting partnership with Arsenal last week, with the Phillippines-based operator highlighting Arsenal’s fan base in the region as a key source of future growth.
SBOBet has tied up betting partnerships with both Swansea City and Norwich City, while TLC88.com signed as West Bromwich Albion’s ‘platinum gaming partner’.
12Bet is also shirt sponsor of Wigan Athletic, who were relegated from the Premier League to the Championship in May.
“I am delighted to name 12BET as our new stadium sponsor and look forward to a successful and long-term partnership between the two parties,” Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish said.
“As the club returns to the Premier League, there is great excitement at what can be achieved on and off the pitch and on behalf of our owners I have great pleasure in welcoming our first ever stadium sponsor to our corporate family.”
