Betgenius hires trading director from bwin.party
Markku Kolehmainen joins after five years as head of live trading at bwin.party.
Betgenius has announced the appointment of former bwin.party head of live trading Markku Kolehmainen to a newly created role of trading director.
Kolehmainen, who has also worked for Ladbrokes, Bet Option and SSP International, will oversee the trading team with the task of offering more in-running sports and improving margins.
Betgenius CEO Mark Locke said of the appointment: “Markku joins Betgenius with great pedigree coming to us from one of the leading and most innovative operators in the industry. We are excited about the depth and experience he will bring to our trading team and are confident he will be best placed to manage the calibre of clients Betgenius continues to attract.”
Last year saw the sports data software supplier sign a range of deals, including an agreement for the distribution of pricing and trading services alongside IMG Media’s data on tennis’ elite tournaments. Betgenius agreed to supply its Connextra product, allowing operators to integrate real-time content into advertising campaigns, to Sportsbet and Paddy Power.
