BetStars nets partnership with Premier League champs Leicester City
Operator becomes Foxes' European betting partner and will have an in-stadium presence
Amaya-owned BetStars has become Leicester City’s official European betting partner for the club’s first season as defending Premier League champions.
As part of the deal, the operator will have an in-stadium presence at all of the club’s domestic fixtures, as well as its Champions League fixtures.
BetStars is running a promotion that will give 50 customers the chance to win a £1 bet on the Foxes retaining its Premier League title at odds of 5000/1 – the same price famously given at the start of last season to win the league.
“Leicester City Football Club changed the game in terms of who can win the Premier League and how it can be won – in the same way that BetStars is looking to be a game-changer,” Eric Hollreiser, Amaya vice president of corporate communications, said.
“They defied the odds to take on the big boys of English football and win the Premier League, and BetStars is aiming to do the same in sports betting with innovative products like Spin & Bet and fan-friendly promotions. We can’t wait to be a part of the next chapter in this truly amazing story.”
Leicester City’s head of partnerships Harj Hir added: “We can draw parallels with BetStars’ rising popularity and ability to engage football supporters, so we look forward to a long and successful relationship for both parties.”
The Amaya-owned brand launched in January 2016 with its Spin & Bet feature recently winning the EGR Innovation in Sports Betting Award at the Marketing and Innovation Awards.
