Betway nets Cricket West Indies betting extension
Malta-based operator adds three years to existing deal following successful International Homes Series partnership
Betway has sealed a three-year extension to its ongoing betting partnership with Cricket West Indies (CWI). The operator has signed a new deal until 2022, including pitch and broadcast presence at all men and women’s International Home Series matches. The partnership has been broadened as Betway also becomes the official betting partner of the Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Cup, the marquee 50-over tournament in the West Indies. The contract extension will also provide continued support for CWI’s integrity and player education programmes. Betway CEO Anthony Werkman said: “Cricket is a hugely popular sport and this deal has been the cornerstone of our entry into the game. “We are extremely happy to be extending this deal which will bring us to many more fans throughout the world in conjunction with one of the most prestigious international teams,” he added. Betway’s initial deal with CWI started with the International Homes Series between West Indies and Sri Lanka in June 2018 and ran through to the International Homes Series against Ireland in January 2020.
