Children's charity plots online gaming launch
The NSPCC is preparing to launch a number of egaming products after creating an in-house gaming development team
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) is preparing to launch a range of new online gaming products in an effort to grow its supporter base and boost its fundraising capabilities.
The UK-based charity recently created a Gaming and New Product Development arm to assist the fundraising team in running raffles and lotteries while also developing new gaming products with online bingo currently being considered.
The NSPCC also launched its new Weekly Lottery last month which is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and offers players the chance to win up to £1,000 in a weekly draw or £8,000 in a quarterly superdraw.
“The Weekly Lottery is a great way for the NSPCC to attract a new audience of regular givers, whilst offering the chance to win prizes, as well as cross-sell to existing supporters,” NSPCC head of individual giving, Amanda Mitchell-Francombe, said.
“Every weekly entry is another £1 towards our vital work ensuring children across the UK are protected from harm,” she added. “Players will be helping children every week of the year as well as having the chance to win some amazing prizes.”
Last year UK cancer charity Marie Curie Cancer Care (MCCC) unveiled its new online gaming platform in collaboration with product development agency Paper.
The MCCC currently offers paid-for lottery, raffle, bingo and instant win games, while many online bingo sites including the Daily Mail’s Pink Ribbon also raise money for various charities.
