Colossus Bets appoints new heads of product and operations
Laurence Jones and George Heap to lead product and betting operations teams at the London-based operator
Pool betting operator Colossus Bets has promoted former head of betting operations, Laurence Jones, to head of product, while ops team member, George Heap, has been appointed head of betting operations.
Jones started as betting operations manager in 2012 during the company’s inception and has since held a number of roles within the business, most recently leading the recent release of British and Irish racing pools.
In 2012, Jones established a 10-member betting operations team that continues to run the business today.
George Heap joined the operator in 2016 as part of the betting operations team and will now be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the business.
CEO and founder of Colossus Bets, Bernard Marantelli, paid tribute to both men in a post on LinkedIn: “[I’m] very proud of both of them and congratulations on a well-deserved milestone.”
“[Jones’] heart has always lied with racing, which made him an obvious choice to lead our recent release of British and Irish racing pools and eventually formally wear the product hat,” Marantelli added.
“Heap joined the Ops ‘feeder’ less than 3 years ago and quickly made himself essential as deputy to Laurence and consummate multi-tasker beyond the borders of the function.”
In June, Colossus partnered with Malta-based operator Mr Green to launch an exclusive pool betting product dubbed ‘Jackpot Bets’.
