CTO Satchell to leave IGT
Company also appoints Darrell Rodriguez as its first chief creative officer.
Chris Satchell, chief technology officer and executive vice president of research & development with International Game Technology (IGT), will leave the company this week.
The Microsoft veteran had joined in 2009, initially just as CTO, before taking on his dual role in August 2010. The reasons for his departure are currently unclear.
IGT chief executive Patti Hart said: “Chris has helped to drive meaningful progress with our technical strategy and product development. We would like to thank Chris for his contributions to IGT and we wish him well in all of his future endeavours.”
Meanwhile the software provider, which was awarded a Nevada online poker licence in June, has appointed Darrell Rodriguez to the newly created role of chief creative officer.
Rodriguez, who has been with IGT as senior VP global game studios since 2010 after previous positions with Disney and EA, will now be responsible for developing the company’s content creation strategy, among other responsibilities.
Hart said Rodriguez “Has provided the necessary leadership for our content development efforts and is well equipped to further our pursuit of creating and providing the most innovative game content for all of our customers and partners.”
