DFS platform developer ASAP Italia hires former Amazon manager as CTO
Paolo Farinella led big data and Amazon Prime Video developments during his tenure at the tech giant
ASAP Italia, the company behind daily fantasy sports platform Sportito, has hired former Amazon software development manager Paolo Farinella as its new CTO.
In his new role, Farinella will lead technological developments across the group’s brand portfolio, including Sportito and its Superscommesse and Bettingrunner affiliate sites.
During his time at Amazon, Farinella managed two dedicated Big Data teams and drove Amazon Prime Video developments.
“Paolo has got the potential to enhance the company towards its growth. His previous experience will be a great contribution to our company,” ASAP Italia CEO, Riccardo Mittiga, said.
Farinella added: “When I returned to Italy from Amsterdam, I had the opportunity to meet Riccardo Mittiga, who introduced me to the world of ASAP Italia.
“I saw a company with a team of highly motivated people and an IT department with great potential for growth, so I wanted to be a part of it.”
Rome-based ASAP Italia was founded in 2010 and operates odds comparison site brand Superscommesse and sports betting tips marketplace Bettingrunner.
Last year, the company also struck two betting partnerships with Burnley FC and Fulham FC for its new DFS brand Sportito.
