Former bet365 tech manager joins Maxima Compliance
Matt Hegarty will head up technology services department
Maxima Compliance has announced the appointment of former bet365 software development team leader, Matt Hegarty, as its new director of technology services.
Hegarty spent six years at bet365 overseeing technical teams involved in player monitoring and external threat protection. He also oversaw the development of a bespoke system to integrate with the Italian regulator, Agenzia Dogane Monopoli (ADM).
In his new role as director of technology services, Hegarty will provide oversight of new technical compliance-facing products, in areas including player protection and responsible gambling.
Maxima has also confirmed the appointment of Richard Bucknall as its new head of information security services. Bucknall will head up Maxima’s forthcoming information security projects as well as drafting technical policies for clients.
Both individuals will be based at Maxima Compliance’s London office.
Antonio Zanghi, founder and director of compliance services at Maxima Compliance, said it was the right time to expand the business’s’ senior management team with the twin hires, due to the increased emphasis on compliance within the gambling industry.
“Both Matt and Richard bring with them years of experience in their respective fields. At a time when regulatory burdens are growing across the industry, their unparalleled expertise will ensure Maxima clients stay ahead of the game,” Zanghi added.
