GVC and Hero Gaming join new-look Swedish trade body
BOS extends to 21 members and will give every operator an electoral vote at Annual General Meetings
GVC and Hero Gaming have become the latest brands to join Sweden’s online gaming industry association, Branschföreningen för Onlinespel (BOS).
The trade body now has 21 established egaming firms as members, with Paddy Power Betfair, Mr Green, Kindred Group, Betsson, NetEnt and bet365 serving as the six board members.
BOS previously gave electoral votes to board members only, but now all members will receive an electoral vote at AGMs and other meetings held by the trade body.
This also differs to the Swedish National Gambling Association (SPER), where electoral power is awarded depending on the amount of revenue each operator generates in the market.
BOS general secretary Gustaf Hoffstedt told EGR Intel: “We are pleased to welcome two such esteemed companies within the BOS family.
“BOS has no intention to embrace all licence holders in Sweden, only the ones with the highest standards, and we believe GVC and Hero are to excellent representatives of that,” he added.
Hero Gaming CEO Tomas Backman said: “We want to thank BOS for accepting us as members and we’re looking forward to working together with the association to keep building a sustainable market in Sweden.”
