Hills goes live on Betfect social betting network
Operator joins rival bookmaker Ladbrokes by integrating its API into the start-up's platform
William Hill has become the second real-money operator to sign a deal with Betfect following the launch of Ladbrokes on the social betting network last year.
Betfect aims to socialise the betting experience for customers by allowing users to compare bets, share tips and place wagers directly via bookmakers integrated into the platform.
Players can also track their performance via a leader board and follow a range of expert tipsters.
“Creating a social network for the sports betting community, allowing users to stay connected while using our services is a great idea,” Alex Rutherford, head of product innovation at William Hill, said.
“We are delighted to boost innovation by helping and supporting start-ups like Betfect to increase the level of engagement amongst our customers and to bring new ideas to market.”
William Hill’s rival bookmaker Ladbrokes also went live on the platform last year.
Betfect founder, Giacomo Alpago, said the firm was confident of signing deals with additional bookmakers in the future as it looks to roll-out new iOS and Android apps shortly.
“We aim to socialise the digital betting experience and do for the betting industry what eToro is doing for the financial trading markets,” Alpago said.
“It is a major coup for Betfect that major operators like William Hill and Ladbrokes are keen to work with us to drive innovation in this sector in order to give punters the best betting experience possible,” he added.
