Jaime Costello joins National Council on Problem Gambling

The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) has announced that Jaime Costello will join the organisation as director of programs. Costello has nearly 15 years of experience working in the problem gambling field, most recently as bureau director of prevention and training at the New York Council on Problem Gambling (NYCPG). At the New York council, Costello played an important role in developing and growing the Problem Gambling Resource Centres, which ensured that professionals, individuals, families and communities had access to prevention and support services throughout the state. Keith Whyte, NCPG executive director, said: “Jaime has had an exceptional career in problem gambling prevention and education. Her public health-centric mindset and organisational leadership skills make her ideally qualified for this position.” Whyte added: “We look forward to the growth of NCPG programs under Jaime’s unique combination of energy, thought leadership and experience.” Costello commented: “I am thrilled to join the NCPG team. NCPG has a unique position in the national conversation around problem gambling and responsible gambling, bringing all sectors together to create long-term change. I am excited to contribute to the organization’s efforts to modernize the National Problem Gambling Helpline and achieve other milestones.” The addition of Costello aligns with the NCGP’s strategic capacity-building initiatives, that were outlined in the $6.2m (£4.81m) grant from the National Football League Foundation (NFLF), which aims to bolster problem gambling and responsible gambling awareness, services and advocacy nationwide.
