Ladbrokes censured by ASA over All4 horseracing ad
Regulator ruled TV short displayed socially irresponsible behaviour and ordered its removal from streaming service
The ad titled “The Racers” is part of Ladbrokes’ “Where the Nation Plays” campaign and appeared on All4 on 25 October 2020.
It showed various individuals using the Ladbrokes app on their mobile phone including one man in a café who was distracted from the conversation by a horse race going on elsewhere.
In both cases, a voiceover stated: “Come starter’s orders, I’m a bag of nerves,” while the man in the café began to shake and make the food and cutlery on his table vibrate.
