Ladbrokes launches new tablet-optimised sportsbook
New app first of a number of new tablet-optimised products in the pipeline as bookmaker continues mobile drive
Ladbrokes has launched a new tablet-optimised sportsbook which aims to build on the success of the Mobenga-powered mobile product launched last December.
Speaking to eGR Mobile Intelligence ahead of the launch, Ladbrokes director of mobile and devices Andrew Bagguley said the release was the first of a number of new tablet products the operator had in the pipeline as it looked to continue its push on the platform.
The tablet-optimised sportsbook, developed in collaboration with Playtech subsidiary Mobenga, has been designed to utilise a number of key features added to the sportsbook in recent months, most notably the âMy Accasâ accumulator tracker and Ladbrokesâ âWatch & Betâ service that allows customers to live stream sport and place bets on the same screen.
Space beneath the tablet betslip has also been utilised by Ladbrokes to promote casino content and bonusing offers, while Bagguley hinted at the possibility of integrating in-play betting events within the space in the future.
The app has been designed to function in both landscape and portrait orientations and will operate in tandem with Ladbrokesâ existing sportsbook application to upscale to seven and 10-inch devices automatically, meaning customers do not have to download a new app to use it.
The product is to be rolled out as an app upgrade later this week, and Bagguley said it had been the result of â12 months of continued innovation for Ladbrokes mobileâ.
âThe new tablet service is the latest step in ensuring Ladbrokes customers get the best digital experience,â he added.
Ladbrokes Bingo is also set to receive a tablet launch in the coming weeks as part of its product upgrade, while tablet casino apps are also said to be in the pipeline.
