Ladbrokes appoints new head of digital product
Former head of mobile product Dipen Nagda promoted to role working under digital director Andrew Bagguley
Ladbrokes has promoted head of mobile product Dipen Nagda (pictured) to the role of head of digital product as chief executive Jim Mullen continues to mould his senior management team.
London-based Nagda will report into Andrew Bagguley, who recently assumed the director of digital position vacated by Mullen on 1 April following the departure of CEO Richard Glynn.
The appointment of Nagda follows a raft of senior changes at Ladbrokes since Glynn’s departure with Mullen’s top table now unrecognisable from just a few weeks ago.
As well as the promotions of Mullen and Bagguley, the firm is also in the process of replacing long-serving chairman Peter Erskine who announced his departure earlier this month, while this week group communication director John Pettit also announced he was to leave the operator later this year.
Nagda first joined Ladbrokes in 1998 and spent two years as a business analyst before leaving to pursue a career in mobile technology.
He re-joined Ladbrokes in 2012 but not before having held a number of mobile-focused roles with major telecommunications companies Three UK, T-Mobile and Vodafone.
Since returning to Ladbrokes, Nagda has quickly moved up the management ladder, first moving from channel development manager to mobile sportsbook product owner before becoming head of mobile product just six months ago.
Mobile has become the number one channel for sportsbook operators in recent years, and Ladbrokes said stakes from its Mobenga platform grew 110% during 2014.
The success of its mobile operation recently convinced the firm to integrate it mobile sportsbook platform on to desktop later this year, a move it said would present the customer with a more seamless betting experience.
