Marketing investment sees NetPlay revenues soar
Revenues up by a third - year-on-year increases in new and active depositing casino players.
NetPlay TV has increased revenues by one third during the first half of 2012 compared to the same period last year, with the Supercasino.com owner attributing a sharp rise in active depositing players to its increased investment in marketing.
In its interim financial results posted this morning, the operator revealed that revenue had risen by 33% year-on-year to £13.03m, while EBITDA of £2.35m represents a 49% increase.
Growth was driven by significant year-on-year increases in new and active depositing casino players, which rose 74% and 51% respectively, while mobile and tablet new depositing customers accounted for 18% of total depositing sign ups.
The results follow on from strong Q1 results earlier this year, and the group’s full year results for 2011 which saw revenues rise 12.4% to £22.3m ““ 95% of which came from its casino offering. As a consequence, NetPlay TV has issued its maiden interim dividend with CEO Charles Butler (pictured) describing the move as “A demonstration of the board’s confidence in NetPlay’s business model and the Company’s future growth.
The operator’s focus on its live TV casino offering has seen it pen extensions to its broadcasting agreements with UK TV channels Five and ITV in recent months.
It signed a five-year deal to broadcast Supercasino on Five, and a two-year deal to air live roulette show Jackpot247 on ITV. The Supercasino brand has been further enhanced by a live roulette offering being added to its iPad app at the end of Q4 2011.
Butler said of the results: “I am very pleased to announce another set of strong results which is a testament to the success of our strategy. We have continued to see an increase in active depositing casino players and further investment in marketing has made a significant impact.”
