Mobile âstill in its infancyâ, Playtech says
Supplier expects further mobile penetration after reporting 56% increase in H1 mobile revenues
Online gambling supplier Playtech says it mobile development is âstill in its infancyâ and expects further penetration from the platform in the future.
The comments came after the firm recorded a 56% year-on-year increase in H1 mobile revenues, largely attributed to mobile casino revenues almost doubling and continued growth of its Mobenga mobile sportsbook.
Total mobile revenues grew to â¬21.8m in the period, approximately 10% of total group revenues, and Playtech has forecasted this penetration to continue to grow in the coming months with the release of additional products and entries into further markets.
Revenue from the groupâs mobile sportsbook product grew 31% year-on-year with more than 84% of total sportsbook revenues derived from the mobile channel during the period, attributed largely to the success of Ladbrokesâ mobile launch in December last year.
Mobile bingo revenue also grew 30% year-on-year but was responsible for just 13% of total revenues for the vertical.
Playtech chairman Alan Jackson said the firm had placed an emphasis on customer needs and player experience which resulted in âsupplementary featuresâ to its mobile offering and further traction for its mobile products.
Earlier this week Playtech revealed that is to launch a new casino brand on mobile with Sky Bet featuring its mobile roulette, blackjack and live casino products.
