Norsk Tipping appoints new CEO
Former secretary general of Red Cross Asne Havnelid hired to replace former chief exec Torbj??rn Almlid
Norsk Tipping has appointed former secretary general of the Norwegian Red Cross, Asne Havnelid, as the operator’s new chief executive officer.
Havnelid replaces former CEO Torbj??rn Almlid who announced his departure from the state-owned operator in March after nearly seven years in charge.
“I am very happy, excited and especially humbled to have this opportunity [to join Norsk Tipping],” the new CEO Havnelid said.
“I’m really looking forward to leading the work of the company’s social mission; offering attractive games, thereby securing a large profit to good causes,” Havnelid added.
Havnelid joins the operator from the Norwegian branch of the Red Cross, a significant recipient of lottery money, where she was secretary general for nearly five years.
She was also CEO of the World Ski Championships from 2007 until 2011.
“[Havnelid] has a broad and solid background from various top jobs in both commercial and governmental organisations,” Norsk Tipping’s chairman, Linda Silseth, said.
“I am confident that she will secure Norsk Tipping an even clearer and stronger role in society and together with the staff’s ability to enthuse a new generation of customers.”
