Paddy Power Betfair picks Worldpay as new payments partner
New deal brings together two FTSE100 companies
Paddy Power Betfair has chosen UK payment provider Worldpay to handle payment processes for its online customers.
The newly-formed bookmaking giant said the new partnership would help it improve processing efficiencies and support its global growth ambitions.
“It is vital for our customers to deposit and withdraw funds both efficiently and reliably,” said Ciar??n Scallan, director of customer payments and fraud at Paddy Power Betfair.
“We continue to see fantastic growth, and with the football season coming to an exciting conclusion and the European Championships coming in the summer we were keen to add a trusted advisor to our payments infrastructure.”
Worldpay has worked with more than 150 firms in the gambling industry and claims to process more gambling transactions than any other provider in Europe.
“Our ability to process payments at great volume is extremely valuable for bookmakers, and the unique insights we can offer Paddy Power Betfair through deep data analytics will play an important role in helping them secure their position at the forefront of the betting industry in the future,” Peter Wickes, VP of business development for gambling at Worldpay, said.
Paddy Power Betfair recently posted online gaming revenues of just under ?1bn in its first financial report as a combined company.
