Playtech appoints Ruairi Boyle to commercial team
Playtech has strengthened its commercial team with the appointment of Ladbrokes’ former head of egaming Ruairi Boyle as commercial director.
Boyle joined the international supplier last month having been in a marketing and product consultancy role for almost year and will be based at Playtech’s Camden office reporting into VP of sales Steve Schrier.
He was previously head of sportsbook at Genting Alderney and also served as head of gaming at BoyleSports and head of games and bingo at Ladbrokes egaming.
Sky Bet poaches Paddys man for head of corporate comms
Sky Betting and Gaming has appointed Paddy Power’s head of external affairs Adam Smith to the newly created role of head of corporate communications.
Smith will join the Leeds-headquartered operator on 1 July and will lead the company’s external communications as the firm looks to boost its profile with regulators and politicians followings its acquisition by CVC.
“The way our brand and corporate profile is perceived is an increasingly important factor in determining the success of the business,” Rob Painter, Sky Betting and Gaming’s marketing director, said.
Gaming Innovation Group names Robin Reed as CEO
Guts.com owner Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) has appointed Robin Reed as the company’s new chief executive officer replacing outgoing CEO Kjetil Aasen.
Reed, who officially took up the role on Friday previously worked for six years as managing director of the group’s Malta-based subsidiary and as owner of the online sportsbook and casino brand Guts.com.
“He has extensive industry experience and strong entrepreneurial skills,” GIG’s chairman of the board, Helge Nielsen, said.
European Lotteries elects Hansjörg Höltkemeier president
The European Lotteries association has elected Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin board member Hansjörg Höltkemeier as its new president.
At a two-day congress in Oslo, European Lotteries also elected its new Executive Committee for the 2015-17 period, with Fernando Paes Afonso of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (Portugal) to serve as first vice president and Robert Chvátal of Sazka (Czech Republic) as second vice president. Camelot CEO Andy Duncan will sit on the Executive Committee as the UK representative.
