PokerStars launches Jackpot Poker app on Amazon TV
Players can now access social poker app on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick
PokerStars is looking to grow its share of the social poker market after launching its new Jackpot Poker application on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick.
It comes as part of the push from the poker giant to offer products in additional channels, following the launch of a PokerStars Apple TV app last week.
Players will now be able to use their TVs to play Jackpot Poker, with the app having been optimized for the platform and for use with the Amazon Fire TV controller.
PokerStars director of social gaming Lloyd Melnick said the launch comes after speaking with players who said they wanted to access Jackpot Poker on other media.
“With the explosive growth of television apps, this was the perfect opportunity to give our players what they want,” Melnick said.
“As the largest online poker company, we feel it is important also to take a leadership position in the social poker space.
“By being the first major poker app on Amazon Fire TV devices, we can help poker players around the world find a new way to enjoy their favourite sport,” he added.
PokerStars launched Jackpot Poker back in December on Android and iOS, offering a new variation of its Spin & Go format in a bid to attract more casual players.
Last week the operator also flicked the switch on its “game-changing” Spin & Bet sports wagering tool for its BetStars sportsbook.
