Poll: Will single sign-in prove a game-changer in mobile?
Will seamless login over mobile apps cause a major uplift in mobile gaming revenues?
Playtech’s announcement it was rolling out a new single sign-in platform across its mobile apps caused a lot of interest in the egaming sector last week. The product is already live with Coral, and allows users to switch seamlessly between sportsbook and casino apps without the need to re-enter their login details.
The seamless login was called “the future” of mobile gaming by Playtech’s CEO Mor Weizer and is expected to be rolled out by many of its major clients in the coming months. But will this prove to be a game-changer for the still nascent mobile gaming sector?
Mobile sportsbook continues to push growth in the sports betting sector and is now responsible for 41% of sportsbook turnover at Hills and more than 50% of Sky Bet’s revenues. But mobile gaming has yet to replicate the growth seen in sportsbook and some operators believe this is due to the inability to easily cross sell from sportsbook.
The roll-out of single sign-in from the major operators is likely to lead to a significant increase in cross-selling to sportsbook customers, but will the new technology drive growth in the manner we’ve seen so far in the sports betting vertical? Or will it prove to be less decisive in the new battleground for egaming? Cast your vote on the right hand side of the page.
