Puntt to launch player-specific esports betting platform
UK-based start-up to offer markets on individual player performance under UKGC licence
Esports betting start up Puntt is set to offer operators access to esports player betting markets for the first time after gaining a UK licence.
The UK-based firm is described as the world’s first esports player betting site, which offers consumers the chance to bet on specific player parameters, such as most individual kills and other various in-match markets.
Puntt have developed a purpose-built proprietary statistical model driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) to generate prices for esports players in totally new market.
The platform will launch in February 2020, with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) becoming the first title to feature. Dota2 and other major esports titles are set to launch on the platform throughout the year.
Puntt is initially launching its B2B vertical prior to a B2C launch later this year.
Currently, esports player betting is not offered by any bookmakers globally and Puntt is looking to tap into the notion that esports fans ‘identify with players more than teams’ to venture into this new field.
Phill Adams, Puntt CEO, said: “Puntt’s player betting offering is unique in the esports betting industry. These are tricky markets to price and can leave operators with large liabilities in a market where the customer is often better informed.
“Our solution gives customers an exciting and fair product. We are launching with CS:GO initially with other leading games to follow in the future.”
