River iGaming enters Sweden with quick-withdrawal Casonic brand
River iGaming has gone live for the first time in Sweden with its quick-withdrawal online casino brand Casonic.
The brand was soft launched last week on the Gaming Realms Grizzly platform, with River aiming to start marketing operations this weekend.
“We are not the first one entering the market with this proposition, so our strategy is to look at other ways to acquire players,” said Ismael Diagne, CEO at River Game Operations, the operational arm of River iGaming.
“That means not just affiliations but digital and programmatic to try and get players at a lower CPA.”
As for retention, Diagne said River would look to introduce a variety of gamification elements, once approved by the regulator.
“We are talking to regulators at the moment to get feedback around what’s compliant and that conversation is ongoing. Once we get comfortable that our gamification is compliant we will go with that in the market,” Diagne said.
The re-regulated Swedish market has not been kind to non-state owned operators since re-regulation in January with multiple operators fined for compliance failings and significant drops in revenues for most firms.
The Swedish government is also investigating the introduction of major advertising restrictions.
Casonic was originally launched in Finland in December last year, with Diagne saying the brand and its BankID payments system had been well received by the market.
It is River iGaming’s first in-house brand since it acquired Gaming Realms’ B2C operations for £23.1m in June last year.
The deal included Gaming Realms providing the operator with its platform services.
