SG Digital CCO to depart
Steve Schrier chooses to stand down from role with company putting new emphasis on US business development
SG Digital chief commercial officer Steve Schrier is set to depart the business in January 2020, EGR can reveal, amid a renewed focus from the company on US business development.
Schrier has chosen to stand down rather than potentially relocate to the US, with SG Digital now in the final stages of recruiting an MD for the Americas.
SG Digital has a 40-strong commercial team globally, of which 10% are focused on the US.
“With the market expanding at pace, we are appointing a leader to run that team,” an SG Digital spokesperson said. “This is a case of us mapping our successful European model onto the US.”
Schrier joined SG Digital in July 2018, having previously worked at Playtech and Ash Gaming before that.

“We are evolving the organisation at a high level,” SG Digital CEO Jordan Levin told EGR.
“We looked at our business and the majority of our revenue comes from EMEA, but the majority of our business development, our new business opportunity, is in the Americas and the US in particular with sports betting.
Levin said the US market had different characteristics to Europe and needed its own “tender loving care”.
“We will provide operational support from our headquarters in Europe, but the US really needs its own dedicated focus, with senior-level attention and a senior exec on the ground interfacing with the market,” Levin said.
It is understood the firm could also adjust its European business to more closely align product and commercial teams.
“Essentially in Europe we want to mirror the way our clients operate,” Levin added.
