Unibet launches new casino app for iPhone
New app includes fingerprint authentication and improved search function
Unibet has launched a new casino app for iPhone featuring 200 game titles and a live casino.
The Unibet Casino app, which was previously available to iPad users, features a number of upgraded functionalities to improve user experience, including fingerprint authentication and a âlast playedâ option which allows players to resume games on the move.
A new search function also enables players to filter games by supplier, jackpots, and pay lines, as well as save favourite games to a quick access list.
âWe really believe the Unibet Casino app to be best in class,â Fredrik Kjell, Unibet head of gaming, said. âThe extensive research and development we undertook among players of all experience levels as well as industry experts was to make sure the app is easy to use, fast and most importantly safe.
âAdding several game filters, TouchID login and clever game categories we give our players an unmatched experience on their tablets and mobile devices,â he added.
In April last year, the Malta-based business also launched an Apple Watch app, although the product was designed to encourage people to place a bet on their phones rather than offering betting functionality itself.
Last week the firm reported new all-time high in underlying EBITDA for Q4 of £27.1m, with 56% coming from mobile. The company said the surge was driven by double-digit growth from its Western European business and revenues generated by recent bolt-on acquisitions.
However, EBITDA for the 12-month period fell from £115.7m in 2014 to £77m last year following a rise in betting duties and other costs of sales.
Unibet CEO Henrik Tjärnström also told EGR that he was considering bringing the newly-acquired Stan James platform under the Unibet name.
