Sports betting solutions provider SBTech has added rapid in-play betting markets to its mobile sportsbook solution. Itai Zak, CEO at SBTech, said that the introduction of such markets âtargets the needs of recreational playersâ who are watching a live sporting event.Coral and BetVictor have gone live with similar one-minute markets in recent weeks.
Research conducted by payments firm Secure Trading revealed around 70% of UK customers who placed a bet on this summerâs World Cup online did so using a mobile device, with the supplier attributing the increase to a rise in âsecond screeningâ of sporting events. âThese major events offer a significant mobile opportunity for operators,â Jens Bader, commercial director at Secure Trading, said.
The Games Company, founded by former bwin.party developers Hans Winkelmann and Ian Matthews, launched its first slots titles across Betfairâs gaming products after collaborating with games specialist Odobo. The titles went live last week and the firm expects to release more mobile games with additional partners in the coming months.
Betfair has added PayPal to its host of mobile payment options following an app update last week. The firm previously added the online payments service to its desktop portfolio earlier this year and it follows last monthâs addition of Ukash on mobile devices. The London-listed operator also made minor improvements and bug fixes to its mobile arcade app this week.
Mobile casino firm LeoVegas.com took home the innovation in mobile tablet award at last weekâs eGR Operator and Innovation Marketing Awards. The Scandinavian firm was praised by the judges for its innovative registration and sign-up mechanism, which has driven strong results and was considered to be one of the best solutions to customer acquisition on the channel.
