William Hill strikes streaming deal and launches in-house TV channel
UK bookmaker agrees terms with ARC and ATR and goes live with free-to-view Betting TV
William Hill has launched a new in-house TV channel after becoming the latest operator to strike a streaming data deal with At The Races (ATR).
The agreement, reached in tandem with the Arena Racing Company (ARC), will allow Hills to broadcast horse and dog races from 24 tracks on its new free-to-air channel, Betting TV.
Racecourses such as Ascot, Doncaster, Chepstow, Newcastle and Chester will be included in the deal involving 24 tracks up and down the UK, while punters will also be able to watch Betting TV without having to first bet on the action.
William Hill’s Rupert Adams said: “We will have a dedicated channel with all the ATR races, foreign racing and greyhound racing and is in effect a free-to-air racing channel which is up live and running.
“We are pleased with how it looks and are confident that it will be successful,” he added.
William Hill customers previously had to bet a minimum of £1 to watch live races. Betting TV went live on 3 January on both desktop and mobile.
Hills has become the sixth major operator to agree a new rev-share data and streaming deal with ATR, alongside Unibet, Betfred, BoyleSports, Betway and BetVictor.
