Yggdrasil plots fresh expansion into Poland and Sweden
Supplier to launch new development studios to accommodate “rapid organic growth” and internal re-structure
Yggdrasil Gaming is expanding its international reach with plans to establish new production studios in Krakow and Stockholm.
CEO Fredrik Elmqvist told EGR Technology that Yggdrasil’s organic growth had led to a major re-organisation of the business in Q1 to “fully utilise the firm’s different opportunities.”
“The studio operation will have three silos. One in Malta, with other independent silos in Stockholm and Poland. These are under development and recruitment at the moment is crazy,” Elmqvist added.
“It’s our focus to have three studios now and build them up and make sure they work smoothly and collaborate.”
The new operations will be in addition to the supplier’s current operations in the three jurisdictions, with a specific focus on gaming production, art and graphics.
In April, Yggdrasil’s CTO and its content and backend IT systems moved into a more expansive office space in Krakow.
The new space, located in a boiler house of the Browar Lubicz brewery, offers three floors of over 850m2 to accommodate the rapidly expanding workforce of more than 120 employees.

Alongside the launch of the new office in June, Yggdrasil will launch its own branded beer, to be produced in the brewery.
“It’s both a fun idea and a marketing push. We always like to try new things that are unexpected,” Elmqvist said.
Parent company Cherry is also in the process of moving its Malta-based operations under one roof after acquiring the remaining shares of sportsbook ComeOn in December 2016.
