NBA agrees data distribution deal with Sportradar
Agreement will see data and audio-visual feeds delivered to gambling operators around the world

The NBA has agreed a multiyear deal with Sportradar, which will see the data company provides its betting integrity services to the league as well as distributing live game data to gambling operators around the world.
The deal will start in the upcoming basketball season, with Sportradar distributing NBA data and audio-visual game feeds to âgaming operators outside of the U.S. where gaming is legalâ.
The NBA will also incorporate Sportradarâs Integrity Services into its existing game integrity protection measures.
The 2017-18 season will then see Sportradar become the leagueâs official provider of real-time NBA statistics, with data beamed to more than 80 countries.
The move will facilitate live betting on NBA for international operators and will have some suggesting the NBA is preparing for regulated sports betting in the US, given the leagueâs noted support for the activity.
NBA commissioner David Stern has previously written an op-ed in the New York Times calling for the regulation of sports betting, and is scheduled to speak on the topic at the upcoming G2E conference in Vegas.
âThis multi-faceted partnership with the NBA presents a really exciting opportunity for Sportradar and for fans of NBA basketball worldwide,â said Carsten Koerl, Sportradar CEO.
âWe will be developing a full suite of innovative products, tools and services that will bring the full depth of this exhilarating leagueâs data around the globe.
âI am also truly proud that our Integrity Services provide a tool to support the excellent work of federations and leagues internationally in protecting the integrity of sport.â
