Borgata retakes lead in New Jersey egaming market
Garden State’s online revenues for October fall just shy of July’s $17.4m record
The Borgata has retaken the lead as the largest egaming operator in New Jersey, posting October revenues of $3,809,064, according to new figures from the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
However the numbers may still cause some concern at the Borgata with revenues down 7.2% year-on-year, despite the market as a whole growing by 30%.
The Golden Nugget finished a close second in October, with revenues of £3,802,276, up 73% on the same period last year.
Caesars Interactive checked in as the third largest operator at $3.4m, closely followed by Resorts at $3.2m and Tropicana at $3m.
The market as a whole enjoyed a positive month, with revenues up 30% year-on-year to $17.2m.
Online casino continued to be the growth vertical, increasing 33% to $15m, while poker ticked up 6% to $2.1m.
The total online gaming win for the month was just $200,000 below the state’s revenue record set in July.
For the year-to-date, online gaming win was up 32% to $178m.
Earlier this week, the Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ), which represents all of the state’s egaming operators, came out against a bill to allow internet cafes at New Jersey racetracks.
