Partypoker launches Twitch channel
Live streaming offering intended to educate players and encourage participation
Partypoker has launched a new Twitch live streaming channel with a focus on educating recreational players.
The GVC-owned brand enlisted poker pro Patrick Leonard for the inaugural stream earlier this week, with Leonard playing four tables at once and talking viewers through his decisions and thought processes.
The company said in a blog post introducing the channel: âHave you ever wanted to get inside the mind of one of the worldâs best poker players, listen to their thoughts, figure out how they put opponents on hands, watch them run huge bluffs and make profitable value bets?

The use of livestreaming has already proved very popular at PokerStars, who have a deal in place with pro Jason Somerville, who’s Twitch channel has received almost 14m views.
Twitch is best known for streaming eSports contests, but the medium is being increasingly employed by poker operators and competitions like the Global Poker League in an effort to tap into a younger demographic.
